Choosing a Tasting Experience

Exeter, a small village in the Bundanoon & Southern Villages part of the Highlands, has two family cellar doors within a few minutes of each other. Exeter Vineyard welcomes birthday parties and corporate gatherings, while Dawning Day Winery & Distillery runs tastings aimed at business groups.

What each Exeter cellar door offers a group:

Guided tastings: the full Exeter Vineyard range is $15 per person to try, and the fee is refunded against wine you take home that day.
Private use: Exeter Vineyard can be booked exclusively for a birthday long lunch or a corporate get-together, with a shared menu built around the group.
Gin and limoncello too: the Dawning Day list runs past 20 wines, with vodka, gin and limoncello made on site.
Seasonal settings: Dawning Day's tasting room has an open fire for winter, and a pergola comes into use in the warmer months.
Food to share: Exeter Vineyard serves pizzas from the estate plus cheese and antipasto platters, while Dawning Day plates up house pickles, charcuterie and cheeses.

Two family estates

Exeter Vineyard is run by founder Eddy Rossi and his family, drawing on around 40 years of winemaking.
Its range runs from Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Rosé to Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Dawning Day's vineyard grows Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Gamay, with clover between the rows as part of a regenerative approach.
Part of every Dawning Day wine sale is passed on to charities and community groups.
