Mrs Gibbons Flowers is a floral studio based in the Illawarra and led by Amber Gibbons, who took her first florist job at 14. David, her husband, is part of the business full time and often handles the rigging of hanging pieces and backdrops on site. The studio's Southern Highlands work includes a wedding at Somerleys in Sutton Forest, and the region has its own line on the studio's minimum-spend table. The approach starts with the space rather than the flowers. The team considers how light moves through a room, where guests gather and what the surrounding landscape already gives, then decides whether a moment needs restraint or abundance. For a wedding, that might mean a bouquet and personal flowers, ceremony pieces, table designs for the reception and large statement installations, worked out with your planner, stylist and venue. Beyond weddings, the studio takes on bridal showers, elopements, intimate dinners and milestone celebrations, and builds installations for hospitality spaces, brands and product launches. It also offers concept design and light styling, from a lookbook setting out the palette and style direction to setting up candles, linen and other pieces on the day. Each commission moves from an enquiry to a consultation, a creative direction and an itemised proposal, then booking documents. A minimum spend applies to Highlands weddings, and your date is held once the signed terms and booking fee arrive. On the day, the team installs everything before guests arrive and returns afterwards to dismantle and pack down.
