Johan, an authorised civil marriage celebrant based in southern Sydney, also works as a professional MC and markets his services directly to Southern Highlands couples. He has more than ten years in the industry and a warm, playful approach rather than a stiff one. On the day he keeps speeches and announcements on time, runs reception games and acts as the link between venue staff, the photographer and the entertainment. As your celebrant he takes care of the paperwork and legal requirements needed to register your marriage, so the formal side does not weigh on you. If you would like a single person looking after the whole day, he can take both roles. Combining them cuts his MC fee to as little as $550, against $1,200 for MC work alone, which suits anyone who has already chosen him for the ceremony. His kit includes a Bluetooth PA and wireless mic that handle about 200 people outdoors, and larger systems are quoted extra.
