About Battlezone Laser Tag

Battlezone Laser Tag runs its games outside rather than in a dark shed. The arena is two acres of bush on Richardson Road in Salt Ash, built up with timber forts, obstacles and plenty of natural cover. Players carry infrared taggers with red dot sights and wear a light sensor headband over a hat, so a hit registers without any sting or mess. There are several ways to book. The Under 12's Birthday is a private party for 7 to 12 year olds, with four ten-minute games and then half an hour in a shaded celebration area with tables. Players 13 and over can join an All Ages session of two hours of missions, and it doubles as a birthday option for teens and adults with no minimum group size. A longer three-hour Extreme session runs once a month with the full range of taggers. Private groups can have the entire arena to themselves for two hours. Work teams, bucks and hens groups, schools and larger birthday crowds all use it, with room for up to 100 players. Two formats are offered: a relaxed Boot Camp for mixed ages and first-timers, and Operation: Extraction, a story-driven game where one team protects the guest of honour while the other hunts them. Every booking includes the equipment, a briefing and marshals who run each game. Scoring software tracks hits and results, and photos from the day are sent through afterwards. Closed shoes and a hat are required, and no alcohol is allowed on site. Send an enquiry to plan a party or private game.

Frequently asked questions

How old do players need to be?

Players must be at least 7. Children aged 8 and under need a parent or guardian playing on the field with them. Some heavier taggers are kept for players aged 12, 15 or 18 and over under NSW rules, but everyone gets a tagger suited to their age.

How many people can come to a private game?

Private hire starts at 10 players and goes up to 100. The Boot Camp format needs 10 or more, while the story-based Operation: Extraction game suits groups of 20 or more.

Can we bring food and a cake?

Yes. Birthday groups can bring their own food, drinks, cake and decorations to the celebration area, which has picnic tables and shade. A BBQ can be hired for $20 if it is booked ahead, and no food is sold on site.

What should everyone wear?

Closed shoes such as sneakers or boots are compulsory because the ground is uneven, and a hat is needed because the sensor headband sits over it. Wear comfortable clothes that can get dirty, and leave thongs, sandals and heels at home.

Do games go ahead if it rains?

Light or moderate rain does not stop play, and the taggers are weatherproof. If heavy rain, lightning or other severe weather is forecast, the team contacts you to move the booking to another date without charge.
