Choosing a House for Your Group

Pokolbin and the wine-country localities around it hold the Hunter's widest choice of holiday houses, from adults-only spa villas for a couple to whole estates where a wedding party of 40 sleeps under one booking. Most are in Pokolbin itself, along Broke Road, McDonalds Road, Hermitage Road and the lanes between them, with more group estates in Lovedale to the north-east and single properties at Rothbury and Mount View.

No trains run through the vineyards, so whichever house you choose, plan on driving or booking transport between cellar doors, dinners and the wedding venue.

Choosing by the size of your group:

Hotel-style stays with a self-contained house on the side, such as Leogate Estate, Pokolbin Village and Hermitage Lodge, suit a wedding where guests are on different budgets and some want a room while others want a kitchen.
