About Clayfields Hunter Valley
Clayfields Hunter Valley is a 30-acre estate of vines and bushland at Pokolbin that doubles as a working apiary, producing the honey sold under the Clayfields name. Its accommodation is deliberately small: two self-contained villas, adults only and designed for couples. For a pair travelling in for a wedding, an anniversary or a birthday weekend, it offers privacy that a larger resort can't, with the villas set more than half a kilometre in from the road behind security gates. Each villa covers close to 150 square metres inside and out. A king bed opens onto an indoor spa bath, with a double-sided wood fireplace between the bedroom and the north-facing living room. There's a full kitchen with good cookware, a dining area, a stone bathroom with a multi-jet shower, underfloor heating, reverse-cycle air conditioning, two smart TVs with Netflix and Prime, and Starlink wifi. Outside, a deck carries a BBQ, a heated jacuzzi and a fire pit. The Lake View villa looks across the lake and field and is pet free; the Valley View villa faces open paddocks, adds a wood-fired pizza oven and accepts one dog by arrangement. A country breakfast hamper is supplied for the stay. Clayfields sits on the Around Hermitage wine and food trail, so cellar doors and restaurants are close, and the guest pages list local tours and in-room dining from Providors Kitchen. Branxton's shopping centre is about 12 km away, roughly 15 minutes by car. Parking is in a covered carport beside each villa. The estate runs on solar power and rainwater, and guests can book a hive tour or a honey, chocolate and cheese tasting during their stay.

Frequently asked questions
Who can stay at Clayfields?
It's an adults-only retreat for couples. Each of the two villas has one king bed, and numbers can't exceed what's on the confirmed booking without management's approval.
Is there a minimum stay?
Single-night bookings aren't normally accepted, though you're welcome to call and ask.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 2pm using a gate code sent before arrival, and check-out is by 10.30am. Breakfast provisions cover the first two nights, with a fresh delivery for longer stays.
What deposit and cancellation terms apply?
A 50% deposit is taken at booking and the balance is charged seven days before arrival. Cancelling 30 or more days out returns the deposit; within 30 days the deposit is forfeited, and within seven days the full amount is charged.
Can we bring our dog?
Yes, in the Valley View villa only, which takes one well-behaved dog with pre-approval; it must stay on a lead outside the villa. Cats aren't accepted, and an unauthorised pet incurs a $150 cleaning fee.
