About Goosewing Cottage
Goosewing Cottage is a small private property at Mount View, in the hills above Pokolbin, with two fully self-contained, architect-designed places to stay: the Cottage and the Homestead. The owners also run onsite elopement and small wedding packages, so it is used both by couples marrying on the grounds and by guests in the area for a wedding, a birthday or a family weekend. Both buildings look out over the Brokenback Ranges and surrounding farmland, and wallabies are regular visitors. The Cottage sleeps up to four in two king suites, each with its own ensuite. It has polished concrete floors, a slow-combustion fireplace, reverse cycle air conditioning, a kitchenette with an induction cooktop, combination microwave oven and dishwasher, and a garden terrace with a BBQ. The two-storey Homestead takes up to eight: two large king suites, each with a private lounge, a small library and a sofa bed for extra guests. It adds a chef's kitchen with a 900mm oven, a full laundry, underfloor heating, a private saltwater pool, a gazebo with mountain views, a fenced yard and child safety gates on the stairs. Both stays include a full breakfast hamper, firewood from Easter to the October long weekend, wifi and a landline, since mobile reception is patchy. Cellar doors including Briar Ridge, Peterson's and Carillion are nearby, along with Bistro Molines, and the owners arrange door-to-door coach transfers for Day on the Green concerts. The property is on a slope with stairs, so it may not suit guests with serious mobility issues.
