About Sweetacres Hunter Valley
Sweetacres Hunter Valley, which used to trade as Billabong Moon, is a family-run property on Hermitage Road at Pokolbin owned by Nickey and Andrew Blades. It has six separate stays spread through casuarina woodland around a natural billabong, and they can be booked one at a time or all together. Taken as a whole, the property sleeps up to 24 across 11 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, which suits a wedding party, a reunion or a work group that wants everyone on one site while couples and families still get their own front door. The Homestead is the biggest, with four bedrooms, four bathrooms, an open kitchen and living room under a vaulted ceiling, a wood fire and wrap-around verandas facing the billabong. Billabong Cottage and Woodlands Cottage each have two ensuite bedrooms for up to four, Billabong with a deck reaching out over the water and Woodlands with an outdoor spa. Tree Tops, the Artist Studio and Sunset Ridge are king-bed studios for two: Tree Tops is raised more than three metres off the ground with an indoor spa and an outdoor bath, the Artist Studio is wheelchair accessible with an outdoor hot tub, and Sunset Ridge takes up to two dogs. Every stay has a kitchen or kitchenette, air conditioning, a combustion fire, a Nespresso machine, a Smart TV and a BBQ. Shared facilities include a saltwater pool, The Deck, a small putting green, walking tracks and a row boat on the billabong. The owners say wedding guests are only moments from Enzo, The White Barn and Greystone Estate, while Hunter Valley Gardens, The Vintage golf course and Hope Estate are about seven minutes' drive. Botanica, Piggs Peake, The Farm, Keith Tulloch and Tintilla are close by, and a cycle track runs along Hermitage Road.
