About Shakers on Wheels
Shakers on Wheels is a mobile cocktail bar and drinks catering business based in Melbourne that regularly works winery weddings and garden ceremonies in the Yarra Valley and the Dandenong Ranges. The team brings the bar, RSA-accredited mixologists and a menu designed for your event, then clears everything away when the night ends. For the drinks, the Open Bar costs a set amount per guest and gives unlimited drinks from your menu for an agreed time, while with the Dry Bar you buy the alcohol. The Bar Tab bills only for what is poured, with a service fee on top. On the Cash Bar, guests pay for their own drinks against an agreed minimum spend. Each package brings the bar and bartenders, a menu written for you, glassware, bar tools, ice and garnishes. The team builds the bar before your booked hours and takes it down afterwards. Menus typically offer four to six cocktails, such as citrus sours, stirred classics and spritzes, plus an alcohol-free choice. The bar can be a purpose-built counter, a cart or Marty, a vintage caravan restored and fitted with beer taps and a double fridge. Add-ons include a cocktail fountain, tiered champagne or cocktail towers, a brass tap bar with dry ice, a cocktail buffet and bottled cocktails personalised as gifts for guests. Two-hour cocktail making classes can also be run at your home or office.

Do we have to buy the alcohol ourselves?
Only if you choose the Dry Bar, where you supply the alcohol and Shakers on Wheels provides the bar, staff, glassware, ice and garnishes. Drinks are included with the Open Bar and the Bar Tab.
How is a Yarra Valley bar booking priced?
Quotes are based on how many guests you have, how long the bar runs, the menu, the set-up and where the event is. Travel to the valley is shown as its own line in the quote, and a deposit secures your date with the balance paid before the event.
Can Marty the caravan bar set up at a winery?
Usually, yes. Marty needs to be towed in and parked on firm, reasonably level ground, and lawns, courtyards, driveways and open areas at a venue generally suit. A photo of the spot sent with your enquiry lets the team check.
How many bartenders will we need?
That comes down to the size of the crowd and how many cocktails are on the menu. As a rough guide, around 60 guests usually calls for two bartenders, and bigger events add a bar supervisor.
Is there a cocktail class for groups?
Yes. The two-hour mobile cocktail making class suits 15 to 50 adults at a home or office and costs $75 per person. Guests are handed one cocktail on arrival, then make three themselves.
