About Stanicks Estate Guesthouse
Stanicks Estate is a small, low-yield vineyard on 25 acres in Merricks North, growing Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Shiraz. Alongside its wines, the estate lets a single self-contained guesthouse, giving a couple, a family or a small group travelling in for a Peninsula wedding or celebration a private place to stay among the vines. The guesthouse has a main bedroom with a queen bed and a second bedroom with three singles, one of them a raised bunk meant for a child, and two of the singles can be pushed together as a queen. Bookings are capped at four adults. There's a fully equipped kitchen and dining area, a bathroom with shower and washing machine, and all linen and towels are supplied. Out front, a deck with a barbecue and outdoor dining looks across the vineyard and the farmland beyond. Reverse-cycle heating and cooling and a wood heater keep it comfortable through the year, and the estate's own wines can be bought during a stay. Parking is right outside the door. The estate is close to several well-known Peninsula venues and cellar doors, among them Polperro, Port Phillip Estate, Avani and Merricks General Store, which makes it a handy base for an event at one of the area's wineries.
