About Melbourne Mobile Bars
Melbourne Mobile Bars is a licensed beverage catering business that brings the whole bar to the party: trained bartenders, a portable bar, glassware and, if you want it, the drinks themselves. It handles birthdays from 21sts upward, weddings, end-of-year and end-of-financial-year work functions, hens nights and large outdoor events. There are several ways to book. Bartender hire on its own suits hosts who already have the drinks – each bartender arrives in hospitality blacks with a cocktail kit and a responsible service of alcohol certificate. Liquor packages go further, with unlimited drinks served per person per hour: a simple package of beers, wines, sparkling and soft drinks, or a full package that adds five cocktails of your choice. Cocktail-only and mocktail-only packages are sold by the drink with a 100-drink minimum. For events where guests drink very differently, the pop-up cash bar runs like a normal bar, with eftpos and drinks at standard bar prices. The host only pays if takings fall short of the minimum spend, or can put money on a tab. The bars themselves range from a timber-fenced outdoor bar with faux grass to LED-lit perspex bars with optional beer taps and a floral archway version, plus a converted ambulance fitted with beer taps. How much does a bartender cost?
A cocktail bartender is $100 an hour for a minimum of four hours when hired without a liquor package. Flair bartenders start at $150 an hour, and extra bartenders on a liquor package are $70 an hour.
What is in the unlimited-drinks packages?
The simple package covers beers, both red and white wines, sparkling and soft drinks; the full package adds five cocktails. Both include the mobile bar, glassware and a cocktail bartender for three hours.
How does the pop-up cash bar work?
The team brings the bar, drinks, glassware and staff, and guests buy drinks at normal bar prices. A minimum spend applies over the bar; if takings fall short, the host covers the difference, or a tab can be set up beforehand.
Can we hire just the bar and glassware?
Bars and glassware are hired with staff – because of the liquor licence, a bartender must be booked whenever the business supplies the alcohol, glassware or bar. Glassware for 50 guests starts at $300.
