About Plantation House at Whitecliffs
Plantation House is a bed and breakfast in a rendered sandstone home built in 1932, on a quiet street in the Whitecliffs part of Rye. Its owners have run it for around twenty years, and it is set up for couples, which makes it a calm base for guests travelling to the southern Peninsula for a wedding or a weekend celebration. There are five suites. The Havana has a king bed, the Bahama a queen bed and spa bath, and the Georgia a queen bed with ensuite. Upstairs at Plantation takes up the whole top floor, with a king bed, a spa bath and separate shower, a kitchenette and a north-facing balcony with a barbecue, and the owners pitch it as a bridal retreat. The Garden Room sits apart at the rear of the garden, with a queen bed and its own kitchen facilities. A cooked breakfast comes with every stay, served in the dining room or out in the tropical garden, and dietary needs can be catered for. Guests share a sitting room, a guest laundry, an outdoor kitchen and lounge area, and an undercover heated spa. The beach and Rye foreshore are a short stroll away, with shops and restaurants close by and the hot springs, golf courses and wineries within easy reach. Off-street parking is free for guests.
