About Broke Estate
Broke Estate is a working family vineyard on Broke Road with 14 acres of vines on the alluvial soils of Wollombi Brook, producing small runs of its own wine. It offers two places to stay: a restored 1890 cottage for up to four, and a glamping site on the creek bank for two. Between them they suit a couple or a small family travelling in for a wedding, an anniversary or a birthday, or two couples sharing a weekend in the Broke Fordwich wine area. The Cottage has been restored with modern comforts while keeping its character. Both bedrooms have king beds and their own ensuites, and there is a large family and dining area, a full kitchen with gas stove, ducted air conditioning and a slow combustion wood heater for the cooler months. It is professionally cleaned with laundered linen and a towel for each guest, and stocked with pantry basics, toiletries and a gas barbecue outside. The glamping site pairs a canvas bell tent with a queen bed and record player with a private amenities pod containing a kitchen, shower and eco toilet, set on a deck by the brook with an outdoor fireplace. Being a working farm, guests are asked to stay out of the vines for biosecurity, and the busiest vineyard period runs from January to March. The two estate border collies may come to say hello. Free wifi is available at the cottage, entry is by lockbox code, and the glamping site has its own parking area.
