About Monkey Place Country House
Monkey Place Country House is a sandstone house on six acres in Broke, surrounded by native gardens and wrapped by a wide verandah. It takes groups of eight to 14, which suits a family coming in for a wedding, a reunion, or friends gathering for a milestone birthday. The house has a generous cook's kitchen, separate spaces for socialising and quieter corners, and in-house catering can be organised through Monkey Place Catering. Sleeping is spread over four bedrooms, each with a queen bed and one with its own ensuite. A bunk room next to bedrooms three and four holds four king single bunks, and two trundle beds add flexibility for children or extra friends. A long dining table seats the whole group, and the living area centres on a large sandstone fireplace for winter nights. In the warmer months there is a swimming pool, and the heated outdoor spa can be used year-round. The house sits on Wollombi Street in Broke, near several boutique cellar doors and Margan Restaurant. It is managed by Unwind Hunter Valley, which handles bookings, check-in and the house rules. The person booking must be at least 21, parties and functions need written approval in advance, and the property is not available for end-of-school celebrations.
