About APX World Square
APX World Square is a serviced apartment building on Cunningham Street in Haymarket, run by the Sydney operator APX Hotels Apartments. Its groups page names bucks and hens nights alongside birthday weekends and wedding parties, pitching the idea of heading out with friends and returning to your own apartment rather than a hotel room. Every unit has a living and dining area, a full kitchen with gas cooktop and oven, a dishwasher, a washing machine and dryer, and a private balcony. The largest options are the Standard and Executive two-bedroom apartments, each made up of two interconnecting studios and taking up to six guests. The standard version has king and twin beds, a sofa bed, two bathrooms and two kitchens; the executive version is bigger at 121 square metres with two king bedrooms and two living areas. Extra guests cost more, and occupancy must match the booking confirmation. Town Hall station is roughly a five-minute walk, and the hotel's own list of nearby sights includes Chinatown, Paddy's Markets, Darling Quarter, Hyde Park and the International Convention Centre. From the airport the train takes 20 to 25 minutes, or a taxi runs about $60. On-site parking costs $50 a night, can't be booked ahead and depends on space at check-in. Reception is staffed around the clock, there's a heated pool on level 3 and a gym that guests use free.

Frequently asked questions
What's the biggest apartment and how many does it sleep?
The Standard and Executive two-bedroom apartments are the largest, each sleeping up to six. They're two interconnecting studios, so you get two bathrooms, two kitchens and two laundries. The executive one is 121 square metres with two king bedrooms; the standard one has king and twin beds plus a sofa bed. Bigger groups book two or more units.
Are hens and bucks groups welcome?
Yes. APX's groups page lists bucks and hens nights as one of the group stays it caters for, with the idea that you head out together and return to a private apartment afterwards. Birthday weekends and wedding parties are on the same list.
Are there rules on noise and behaviour?
Guests are asked to keep things quiet, especially at night, so other residents aren't disturbed, and breaking that rule can lead to immediate eviction. Disruptive behaviour can also mean eviction without a refund. The property is non-smoking apart from balconies and outdoor areas, with fines up to $500 for smoking elsewhere, and only the number of guests on the booking may stay.
Is there parking, and how do we get there?
Secure parking is on levels B2 and B3 at $50 per night, paid at check-in and charged for the whole stay. It can't be reserved and is subject to space when you arrive. Town Hall station is about five minutes' walk, light rail is another option, and the train from the airport takes 20 to 25 minutes.
What are check-in times and how do group bookings work?
Check-in is from 2pm and check-out is at 10am, and reception at World Square runs 24 hours so late arrivals aren't a problem. A security hold of typically $200 is placed on your card and released after checkout. Bookings of more than five rooms may carry their own deposit and cancellation terms, set by the APX sales team.
