About Married By Adam
Adam Seeney works full time as a celebrant and wedding MC; he made the move to Newcastle and now marries couples around the city, Lake Macquarie and well beyond. Since starting the business in 2018 he has married more than 500 couples. He taught drama before becoming a celebrant and has been hosting events since his teenage years, so he knows how to read a crowd and keep a ceremony moving. Things begin with a Zoom call. Each of you then completes your own questionnaire, and you catch up with Adam face to face to plan the ceremony and complete the Notice of Intended Marriage. He keeps the finished script to himself so that what you feel at the altar is genuine, but goes through the running order in detail first, which means no formal rehearsal is needed. There is a vow writing guide with personal feedback if you want help with your own words, and Adam prints your vows onto cards. He brings his own Bose battery PA and Sennheiser wireless microphone, so a beach, park or backyard ceremony in Newcastle works without a power point, and afterwards he registers the marriage with Births, Deaths and Marriages. For a small, low-key wedding there is an elopement option on Mondays to Thursdays. Couples who want the energy to carry on can add his MC service for announcements, speeches and games until the dance floor opens, and his wife works as a wedding coordinator if you need help running the day.

Does Adam marry couples in Newcastle and Lake Macquarie?
Yes. Adam lives in Newcastle and marries couples throughout the city and around Lake Macquarie. Name your venue in the enquiry and Adam will confirm whether a travel fee is added.
What does Married By Adam cost?
Adam does not publish a set fee. Weekday or weekend, where you marry and which package you pick all change the price, so use the contact form to share your date and venue and he will quote. Paying a 50% booking fee secures the date.
Will we see the ceremony script before the day?
No. Adam keeps it under wraps so your reactions are real, though every word is drawn from what you shared in the questionnaires and meetings, and he takes you through the order of the ceremony in detail beforehand.
Can Adam be our reception MC too?
Yes. The MC add-on covers announcements, introducing the speeches, keeping the night on schedule and, if you like, games like the shoe game or trivia, right up until dancing starts.
Is there a smaller option for an intimate wedding?
Yes. The elopement package is designed for couples with a short guest list who want a simple ceremony, and runs Monday to Thursday only.
