About Georgian Court Inn
Georgian Court Inn is a historic bed and breakfast on George Street in East Melbourne, set in a row of Victorian terraces built in the early 1870s. The terraces were reworked into flats in the 1920s, Dame Nellie Melba once kept the address as her city residence, and the building later became guest accommodation. For guests travelling in for a wedding, a family birthday or a game at the MCG, it offers an unfussy, quiet base with breakfast included each morning. There are more than 30 heritage rooms, averaging about 25 square metres, in single, twin, double and family configurations. The Family Deluxe Ensuite and Double Deluxe Ensuite have private bathrooms, the Twin Deluxe Room has two single beds, and the Family Standard and Single Standard rooms share bathroom facilities, so check each room's listing when booking. Rooms have complimentary Wi-Fi and a smart TV. Downstairs there is a guest lounge with a reading corner, and a shared self-catering area with a microwave, kettle, fridge and dining tables. The inn sits about 0.6 km from Fitzroy Gardens and 0.8 km from the MCG, an 11-minute walk. Parliament House and the Royal Botanic Gardens are about 20 minutes away on foot, as is Federation Square, and Melbourne Museum in Carlton Gardens is around 30 minutes' walk. On-site parking is available, and the inn asks guests to confirm arrangements before arrival.
