About Wine Country Retreat
Wine Country Retreat is a lodge-style property on six hectares at Rothbury, with 16 studio rooms set in two wings either side of a dining room and licensed bar. Rooms can be booked individually, but the retreat is built for groups: the whole place can be hired exclusively for up to 40 overnight guests, which makes it a practical base for a wedding party, a family reunion, a milestone birthday or a work retreat. The owners also run events on site, with a 300 square metre indoor and outdoor function space, catering by an on-site chef and an outdoor ceremony set-up. There are four room types. Standard Studio Rooms have a king bed, Twin Studio Rooms have two king singles, King Plus rooms add a double sofa bed, and the two Family Rooms have a king and two singles. Every room has a private ensuite, reverse cycle air conditioning, a TV with Netflix, wifi, a mini bar fridge, tea and coffee gear, its own car space and a second door out to the shared deck with a table and chairs. Around the grounds you'll find a 15-metre magnesium pool, a cedarwood wet sauna, a small gym, a fire pit, lawn games and giant chess, and a lounge bar with a fireplace, board games and a deck overlooking the pool. A la carte breakfast with barista coffee is served each morning. The retreat can drive guests to wineries and restaurants in its ten-seat van or a car, and it sits about five minutes off the Hunter Expressway at the Branxton interchange, a short drive from the Day on the Green concert series.

How many guests can Wine Country Retreat accommodate?
The retreat has 16 studio rooms, including two family rooms, and takes up to 40 overnight guests. The largest rooms sleep four, either a family room with a king and two singles or a King Plus room with a double sofa bed.
Can we book the whole property for a wedding or event?
Yes. Whole-property hire gives you exclusive use of all six hectares, accommodation for up to 40, the 60-seat dining room, bar, deck, pool, sauna, gym and fire pit, and an outdoor area with a dance floor and room for a marquee. Functions can host up to 60 seated or 100 standing.
Is food available on site?
Breakfast is served a la carte with barista coffee from 8am to 10am, until 10.30am on weekends. The bar serves local wine and the retreat's own beers, and a bar menu runs from 6pm to 8pm alongside winemaker tastings on Monday and Friday evenings.
Can the retreat drive us to the wineries?
Yes. Private transfers around the valley use a Renault Master van for groups of up to ten or a saloon car for couples, priced from $35 per trip, and bookings are essential.
Where is it and is there parking?
It's at 1476 Wine Country Drive, Rothbury, about five minutes off the Hunter Expressway at the Branxton interchange, reached by a 500-metre dirt driveway. Every room has its own car space, and there is plenty of extra parking.
