Hotels in Eastern Suburbs

Family weddings, 50ths and reunions out east tend to bring relatives who want a car park, a room that fits the kids and somewhere to gather before or after the main event. The three independent hotels here – in Glen Waverley, Forest Hill and Rowville – all give guests free on-site parking, and each pairs its rooms with its own meeting or function spaces.

The choice comes down to which suburb your event is in and how your group likes to sleep.

How the three eastern hotels compare:

• The Waverley International Hotel, on Springvale Road in Glen Waverley, sits near the Kingsway shops and Glen Waverley Station, with a Family Room that takes up to five
• Canterbury International Hotel, on Canterbury Road in Forest Hill, mixes hotel rooms with one- and two-bedroom apartments and has six event rooms up to a 200-guest ballroom
• Rowville International Hotel, on Stud Road, is motel-style among gardens, with mostly ground-floor Standard Rooms and two-bedroom apartments with a kitchenette
• Glen Waverley suits guests without a car, thanks to the nearby station and bus interchange
• Forest Hill and Rowville lean towards groups who want apartments and are happy to drive

All three are non-chain properties, so it is worth calling each one directly about family bookings across several rooms.
