Hotels Eastern Suburbs

The Eastern Suburbs stretch from the terraces of Paddington and Woollahra out to the beaches at Bondi and Coogee, with Randwick between them. Trains stop at Bondi Junction, and from there buses do the work of reaching the coast, so the suburb you sleep in shapes every trip to and from the event. Guests at a Paddington birthday lunch need a different base from those at a beach wedding.

Matching an Eastern Suburbs base to the celebration:

• A beach wedding or party at Coogee is simplest from Coogee itself, where Coogee Bay Hotel faces the sand and runs its own wedding and event rooms.
• Guests heading to Royal Randwick Racecourse will find Coogee the handier beach, and Adina Apartment Hotel Coogee Sydney lists the racecourse as nearby.
• For a Bondi event, the Hall Street option is Adina Apartment Hotel Bondi Beach Sydney, roughly 400m from the sand.
• Travellers without a car should factor in the bus to Bondi Junction station for any event reached by train.
• Weekend and summer parking is tight at both beaches, and all three hotels charge for their own car parks.

The coastal walk links Coogee and Bondi, which makes it practical for one group to split across the two beaches and still meet up. Of the three hotels on Party Hero here, only Coogee Bay Hotel keeps a bistro and bars downstairs, while both Adina properties are apartment hotels, with kitchenettes in their studios and full kitchens in the apartments. The Bay Rooms at Coogee Bay Hotel, above the main bar, have more character but can be noisy, so light sleepers do better in its boutique wing or at either Adina. Every room at the Bondi Adina has a balcony, and many of the boutique rooms at Coogee Bay Hotel have one too.
