About Newport Surf Life Saving Club
Newport Surf Life Saving Club sits right on Newport Beach, on Barrenjoey Road. Its upstairs hall, bar and back deck look out over the sand and the headlands, and they can be hired as one venue for private events. The main hall has full-height glass facing the water, and the bar and deck add space and fresh air. Together they hold 200 guests for a cocktail party, or 100 seated across ten tables of ten. A standard booking gives you six hours of exclusive use of the hall, the bar, the deck out the back, the kitchen and the upstairs toilets. Tables, chairs and lounges are on site, or you can bring in your own furniture and styling. There is no in-house catering, so you choose your own caterer, who gets the commercial kitchen. A BBQ on the deck keeps things simple for a casual party. The bar serves club-priced beer, wine and spirits, with no BYO. Run a tab, let guests pay for their own, or mix the two, with no minimum spend and no set packages. Three smart TVs take an HDMI device for slideshows, and two cordless microphones run through the speakers. DJs and bands are welcome, bar service stops at 11:30pm, and there is no lift to the function level.

How many guests can the club hold?
Up to 200 guests standing across the hall, bar and deck, or 100 seated at ten tables of ten.
When is the venue available?
Saturdays are generally the only day offered for exclusive hire, because the club bar trades for the public late in the week and on Sunday. Midweek dates are limited, so send an enquiry to check.
What does hire cost?
As a guide, a six-hour event for 70 or fewer guests costs $550 in venue hire, cleaning is $253 and two RSA bar staff are $605. A $550 deposit holds the date. Catering, drinks, security, music and styling are extra, and larger groups need more staff.
Can we bring our own caterer and drinks?
You choose your own caterer, who can use the commercial kitchen. Drinks must come from the club bar, as there is no BYO.
Are there any events the club won't take?
The club doesn't host children's birthday parties, 18ths, 21sts, or hens or bucks nights. Security is required for events over 100 guests.
