About Manly Waves Studios & Hotel

Manly Waves is a small family-run hotel and studio complex on the corner of Pacific Street and Malvern Avenue, opened in 2021 roughly 100 metres back from Manly Beach. It is a quiet, low-key place to sleep if you are coming to Manly or the northern beaches for a wedding, an anniversary or a family birthday, and want the beach, cafes and ferry within walking distance rather than a big resort. Note the house rules: parties and gatherings in rooms are not permitted. There are eight room styles. Palm-style and beach-style queen rooms of 24 square metres and a one-bedroom cottage with its own patio each take two guests, with a fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle but no cooking facilities. The deluxe studio with balcony adds a kitchenette with an induction plate. For families, the family studio and the beach shack apartment each sleep four and come with a stovetop kitchenette, while the superior family room and the 49 square metre family apartment with courtyard both sleep six, the apartment also having a kitchenette. Every room has an ensuite, air conditioning and heating, and free wifi. The Corso and Manly Wharf are around 15 minutes on foot, local buses stop close by, and the ferry takes about 20 minutes to reach the city. Limited parking on site is charged daily and has to be reserved before you book. Reception is staffed from 9am to 5pm, so later arrivals should let the team know ahead to organise keys.

Room rates vary by date and are shown when you check availability on the Manly Waves website; no standard nightly rate is published. Limited on-site parking carries a daily charge of $20. A later check-out costs $50 when available. On arrival the property holds up to $100 on your credit card, or a $200 cash deposit without a card. A lost key costs $100, and a $200 cleaning fee applies if a room is left in a very poor state.

House Rules & Stay Details

Check-in is from 2pm to midnight and check-out is by 10am; reception is staffed 9am to 5pm and after-hours key collection is arranged in advance. Every room has an ensuite with shower, toiletries and towels, air conditioning and heating, tea and coffee making and free wifi; some rooms have kitchenettes. Guests need photo ID and a card pre-authorisation of up to $100 on arrival. Smoking is not allowed in rooms or on balconies, and candles are banned. Quiet hours run from 9pm to 9am, and there is a zero-tolerance policy on parties or groups gathering in rooms. Pets only by prior arrangement. Guests under 18 must be with an adult.
