About Vegas at Waverley Gardens
Vegas at Waverley Gardens sits inside Waverley Gardens Shopping Centre on Police Road in Mulgrave. Alongside a sports bar with big screens and a lounge, it runs a dedicated room for private functions. The function room fits 80 to 100 guests at tables or about 150 for a standing cocktail party. It comes with a private bar, its own area away from the main bar, music access and audio-visual gear, and the team adds table linen and welcome signage. For daytime business events the same room seats 120 in theatre style, 80 as a classroom or 50 around a U-shape. Room hire for corporate bookings covers a projector and screen, a lectern, a roving microphone, a sound system and wi-fi. Food runs from shared canapé platters – sliders, pies, skewers, pizza slabs, mac and cheese croquettes and dessert platters – to a carvery buffet with three roast meats, three salads and two desserts. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are marked on the menus, and dietary needs can be sorted with the coordinator. Three bundled packages – Silver, Gold and Platinum – combine room hire, party platters, staff, a cake and gift table, wristbands, AV and a bar tab of $800 or $1,500. Functions finish by 1am, and hosts planning a 21st or anything with amplified music meet the coordinator first to go through the venue's conditions. The standard booking conditions list room hire of $300, and a security deposit of up to $500 may apply. Weekday corporate room hire is $200 for a half day or $400 for a full day, with morning or afternoon tea from $15 per person and lunch at $25 per person.

The Silver package is $2,500 for 30 to 50 guests over 3 hours, with room hire, focaccia and dip, five party platters, staff, a cake and gift table, wristbands, AV and an $800 bar tab. Gold is $3,500 for 30 to 50 guests over 5 hours with six platters and a $1,500 bar tab. Platinum is $4,000 for 50 to 80 guests over 5 hours, with eight platters, the $1,500 bar tab and unlimited tea and coffee.
Is there a sit-down dining option?
Yes. The carvery menu is $45 per person for groups of at least 30 and includes three roast meats, jacket potatoes, bread rolls, gravy, three salads and two desserts. Porterhouse or turkey can be swapped in for an extra $2 per person.
Can we bring our own cake and decorations?
Celebration cakes are allowed at management's discretion, with a $50 cake cutting fee. Decorations are welcome as long as nothing damages the surfaces, and glitter, confetti and table sprinkles are not permitted.
What time do functions have to finish?
All functions wrap up by 1am. Guests under 18 need to leave the premises before 10pm, so plan younger guests' departure into the run sheet.
