About Mackay Family Estate
Mackay Family Estate is a private wedding venue on Frederick Street in Ourimbah, styled after a French country property. The family behind it has spent four decades in hospitality and event coordination, and the estate is set up purely for weddings. The grounds are laid out as a series of separate garden rooms joined by granite paths, with a freshwater brook running through the middle. There is an armorial rose garden, an amphitheatre, a walled garden, a pear garden and an outdoor fireplace, so ceremony, drinks and photos can each happen in a different spot. The main ceremony lawn sits at the end of a 35-metre walk lined with standard roses, around a pear tree that is about 120 years old. It takes up to 300 guests for a ceremony and also works for cocktail receptions and lawn games. The fairground is a hedged area built around a white-and-gold carousel with 24 horses. It has its own licensed bar for up to 300 people, and fairground-style food can be served from the estate's bistro building at extra cost. For smaller moments, the Walled Garden and the Poolside Butlers Nook each suit a canapé reception for up to 50, and the fireplace setting seats 26 for an intimate dinner. Seated receptions move indoors to the Banquet Hall, where a large crystal chandelier hangs over tables for as many as 150. Packages and pricing are shared with couples on request. Send an enquiry to arrange a tour of the grounds and talk through dates.
