About Henry Deane @ Hotel Palisade
Henry Deane is the cocktail lounge on the top two floors of Hotel Palisade, the heritage pub on Bettington Street in Millers Point. Both levels are enclosed in glass, so the views across the harbour, the Harbour Bridge, Walsh Bay and Barangaroo stay on show in any weather. The lounge is fitted out with plush settees and moody interiors by designer Sibella Court. By day it runs like a restaurant with table service, and in the evening it turns into a bar, with local DJs on the decks. Groups have several spaces to choose from. The Flying Fox on level 5 is a lounge corner for 12, and the Dining Chamber on level 4 is a glass room with a privacy curtain for 15 standing or 10 seated. The Linnean and The Push are private lounges for 20 and 30 that open to a semi-private balcony, and the two join for up to 55. For bigger parties, the level 5 cocktail bar can be booked exclusively for up to 90 guests, and levels 4 and 5 together for up to 150, from Monday to Thursday. Exclusive lunches for up to 55 are possible on weekdays. Food comes from the Graze Away menu of grazing boards, finger food, small pieces and buns, ordered ahead for cocktail-style events. Seated groups of 8 to 10 in the Dining Chamber share a set menu. Henry Deane is strictly 18 and over and asks for smart casual dress. This is a long standing pub that still offers rooms above the pub. It's a solid clean 2 star venue in a great location for both Barangaroo and The Rocks and Circular Quay. The only warning is it doesn't have air conditi…

Location great. Some bar staff are full of their own self importance. Not welcoming at all, I felt very awkward and unwelcome. Better off having a drink downstairs and finding a better roof top bar that has genuine care…
