Coogee is the smaller beach south of Bondi, and a room here suits guests whose celebration is on the coast rather than in the city. • The Adina has no restaurant or breakfast service, while Coogee Bay Hotel has a bistro, bars and a live music room on site.

For a couple who want to wake to the water, the ocean-view boutique rooms at Coogee Bay Hotel have balconies facing the beach, and the Bay Suite looks out to Wedding Cake Island. Anyone driving should know that both hotels charge for parking: the Adina has secure undercover spaces, and guest parking at Coogee Bay Hotel is limited. The Adina's heated indoor pool and gym open from 6am to 10pm, handy for a swim on a windy morning, though weekday lessons take over the pool from 7am to 10am. Cafés and shops surround both, so nobody needs a car for breakfast or a coffee before the ceremony.
