What to Know Before Booking Mini Golf

Golf-style outings around Shellharbour and Lake Illawarra split two ways: a casual outdoor round, or an indoor setting where the weather never matters.

For groups after the indoor option, the region's listing is The Birdie Bunker in Oak Flats, a simulator lounge with private bays and a bar.

Things to weigh up when planning a golf outing in the region:

Rain or shine: indoor simulator bays keep the booking on whatever the forecast.
Skill mix: shot tracking and multiplayer games let beginners and keen golfers play together.
Group size: six to a bay, with extra bays for a larger team.
Food and drinks: ordering at the bay saves a second venue for dinner.
Price: the Oak Flats lounge starts from $49 per group.

More golf and mini golf venues across the lake suburbs will be added here as they join.

A birthday crew of six or fewer fits a single bay and keeps the night simple.
Bucks parties can add catering and drinks packages through the events team.
Work teams from Shellharbour, Albion Park or Barrack Heights can book a team-building day across several bays.
Families and non-golfers tend to enjoy multiplayer games more than a full nine holes.

Getting the most from a golf simulator booking in the region

Allow roughly an hour to an hour and a half for nine holes with three or four players.
Ask about a longer block if the group plans to eat and play.
Pack closed-toe shoes, as they are needed in the bays.
Hire clubs are available for anyone without their own.
