Go Karts Moore Park

Moore Park is already where Sydney goes for a big day out, beside the SCG and Centennial Park and a few minutes from the CBD. Hyper Karting adds indoor go-karting to that mix from Level 5 of a car park at the Entertainment Quarter. The venue describes its main circuit as Australia's longest indoor go-kart track, and it reconfigures the layout into three different tracks each week, so repeat visitors get a different drive. Races last about 10 minutes, with the whole experience including briefing and kart allocation taking around 20 minutes, which makes it easy to fit into a longer celebration.

Before you book go karts in Moore Park:

• Getting there: light rail runs along Anzac Parade, and drivers can park in the Wilson car park below the venue, with a lift or stairs up to Level 5. On event days the desk can validate tickets for the casual rate.
• The experience: up to 24 karts share the main track, which is for drivers 15 and over and at least 140cm tall. Younger drivers have intermediate, junior and mini tracks on weekends.
• Group size: groups under 25 book online, bucks, hens and birthday packages cover up to 14 or up to 28 people, and corporate groups of 20 to 500 can hire the whole venue.
• Booking lead time: larger groups and anything with catering go through the events team rather than online, so allow extra time for those arrangements.
• Food and drinks: trackside catering includes pizza or burgers, fruit, sandwiches, deli meats and cheese platters, plus a non-alcoholic drinks package. Pizza and burgers are not available in the morning.

Prices start from $19 per person. Every driver must have a zero blood alcohol reading, so plan any drinks for after the racing. No licence is needed, but first-time drivers need photo ID, and enclosed shoes are required.
