About Heartbreak Hotel
Heartbreak Hotel is a photo booth and DJ business based in Melbourne that began by styling booths for weddings and now also covers birthdays, corporate events and Christmas parties. The team is often booked at Stones of the Yarra Valley, where couples have even skipped the backdrop so the vineyard and sunset fill the frame. Rather than a curtained box, guests use a slender white column fitted with a touch-screen and camera that tells them when to pose. Props matter here: eclectic and vintage finds, hats, wigs and the signature heart-shaped glasses, which turn up at every booking. Backdrop choices span six velvet colours, four sequin finishes (champagne, pink, gold and unicorn), rose gold mermaid and a tropical design. Bring your own 2 m by 2 m backdrop if you prefer, or ask for a custom media wall. Each 6x6-inch print is designed in-house around your invitation, hashtag or logo, and guests can print as often as they like or email shots to their phones. An online gallery of every photo follows about a week later. Extras include a bubble machine and a polaroid guestbook bound in black cloth or pink crushed velvet. Space needed is 250 cm by 250 cm of level floor with one power point. Your attendant gets there an hour early to set up and stays for the whole booking, and the same team can provide a vinyl DJ with a PA.
