About Urban Antidote
Urban Antidote is a floral design studio based in Melbourne that styles weddings at venues across the Yarra Valley. Founder Anastasia Botica moved from a legal career into flowers and later trained in floristry at McQueens in London. The studio's style is modern, playful and colourful – orchids, trailing anthuriums, sculptural calla lilies and crinkled ribbon instead of a classic posy. Wedding and elopement florals are designed from scratch for each couple. After a first conversation, the team puts together a moodboard of your colours and seasonal blooms, then settles the details in person at the venue or in an online meeting. Everything from the bouquets to the reception installations is delivered and set in place on the day, and pack-down or a move of ceremony florals to the reception can be added for a fee. Corporate events are a large part of the studio's work, from floral gifting stations and branded backdrops to stage pieces for launches, conferences, gala dinners and VIP lunches. Hanging arrangements and big statement installations are a specialty. Enquiries get a reply within three business days. A 30% deposit holds your date, and the remainder is paid two weeks out. For weddings between September and April, booking nine to twelve months ahead is recommended.

Frequently asked questions
How much should we budget for wedding florals?
Weddings start at a $3,000 minimum spend. According to the studio, couples wanting personal flowers, ceremony styling and a complete reception set-up usually allow $7,000 to $10,000, and every design is shaped around your budget.
Will Urban Antidote deliver to a Yarra Valley venue?
Yes. Wedding florals are delivered and styled at the venue, and the team can stay to pack down afterwards. Your quote breaks out design, labour and delivery as separate items.
Can ceremony flowers move to the reception?
Many ceremony pieces can be carried across and restyled for the reception. If the team handles the move, a fee applies to cover staff and logistics, based on the time between the two.
Does Urban Antidote design corporate event florals?
Yes. Launches, brand activations, conferences, gala dinners and VIP lunches are all part of the studio's work. Large sculptural pieces are a strength, and the team looks after bump-in and bump-out.
How far ahead should we book?
Couples marrying between September and April are advised to lock in florals nine to twelve months out. Corporate work usually needs four to eight weeks, and your date is held once a 30% deposit is paid.
