About Tim the DJ
Tim the DJ is a DJ and saxophonist based in Melbourne who takes bookings across the Yarra Valley. He mixes transitions live instead of running a set playlist, watches how the room responds, and leaves the booth to play sax among your guests. Before entertainment became his full-time work he was in law, and he plans each event with the same attention to detail. There is no agency in the middle, so you deal with Tim from the first message to the final track. Every booking gets a personal online planning page for the genres you like, songs to play or avoid, and the order of the formalities, and he confirms the run of the night with you the week before. His sets travel through house, R&B, disco, pub rock and 90s and 00s tracks, and he can work guest requests in or turn down one that would clear the floor. Wedding bookings come in three tiers. Silver gives you as long as five hours of music, a sound system, a wireless microphone and a playlist shaped around you, while Gold brings in live saxophone. Platinum stretches the night to eight hours and adds music for the ceremony, a battery PA for outdoor vows, a separate setup for canapés, dance-floor lighting, simple MC duties and half an hour of overtime if you ask. Beyond weddings he plays gala dinners, corporate parties, Christmas and end-of-year functions, school formals, uni balls and product launches. For these he brings wireless microphones for speakers and lighting suited to the space.

What does a Yarra Valley wedding with Tim cost?
Silver is $3,490 and gives you as long as five hours of DJing. Gold brings in live saxophone, Platinum runs as long as eight hours and includes ceremony music among other extras, and a $500 deposit locks in your date.
Can Tim be our MC?
Yes. Simple MC duties guiding guests through the formalities cost extra and come built into Platinum. Sax or MC work can't be booked by itself, since the minimum booking equals the Silver price.

Can the music run past our finish time?
Packages end at 11pm, and extra time is possible if the venue allows it. Overtime costs $500 per hour, settled on the night before it begins.
