About Married to the Groove
Married to the Groove, run by Josh Parish and based in Melbourne, takes wedding bookings at Yarra Valley wineries and estates without a travel surcharge for most venues. Josh has been behind the decks for over twelve years and now plays somewhere between 70 and 80 weddings each year. His own taste runs to house and disco, though pop, R&B and indie get worked in to keep the floor full – more dancing, less pub rock. When Josh already has a wedding on, one of a small group of associate DJs takes the job, each with more than ten years of experience and the same booth, speakers and planning steps. You are told who your DJ is when you book, and that does not change later. Some of the associates can MC as well. Pricing sits openly on the site. Package Three gives you Josh for five hours of reception music at $3,850, and team DJ packages begin at $3,300. Package Two at $4,600 adds an MC, neon tube lighting and a recording of the set, while Package One at $5,800 covers the whole day from ceremony to the final track with full lighting. Planning follows a fixed path: a run sheet session when Josh is the MC, a music questionnaire roughly four months ahead and a planning call about six weeks out. A $1,000 deposit holds the date and the rest falls due a month before the wedding, with payment plans offered on request. Send an enquiry with your date and venue to check availability.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a travel charge for a Yarra Valley wedding?
For most Yarra Valley venues, no – they fall inside the area covered without a travel surcharge. Travel costs only come in when the distance calls for an overnight stay, and those are quoted before you book.
What does Married to the Groove cost?
The lowest price is $3,300 for a team DJ. Josh's own five-hour reception set costs $3,850, Package Two comes to $4,600 with MC, neon tubes and a recording, and Package One covers the full day for $5,800.
Will Josh be the one playing?
Every package on the price list is Josh himself. If he already has a wedding on your date, you are matched with an associate DJ when you book, and that DJ stays with your wedding.
Can the DJ also host the reception?
Yes. MC duties are built into Packages One and Two, or can be added to Package Three for $650. The role covers planning the run sheet, liaising with the venue and other suppliers, and announcements on the night.
Will the sound work for a big winery reception?
The standard PA handles 150 guests inside or 100 outdoors. The stainless booth upgrade includes a bigger speaker system rated to 250 guests, and for crowds beyond that Josh arranges an external AV supplier and includes its cost in your quote.
