About Melbourne Cityside Celebrant
Benn Stone, the celebrant behind Melbourne Cityside Celebrant, works full time, is based in Melbourne and has conducted more than 3,000 ceremonies over more than a decade. He marries couples in the Yarra Valley and the Dandenong Ranges as part of his regular work. His ceremonies balance warmth with well-placed humour, and each one is written fresh once he has got to know you. Planning begins with a meeting face to face or over video. Benn then drafts the script, helps with your vows and handles the legal steps – lodging the Notice of Intended Marriage, the signing on the day and registering the marriage online. Traditional, modern and same-sex couples are all welcome, and a ceremony can be a ten-minute elopement or a fully personal half hour. For a vineyard lawn or garden ceremony he brings a rechargeable PA with two wireless microphones and plays your chosen music by Bluetooth, with an audio feed your videographer can record from. Plenty of couples book him for the reception as well, as MC for the introductions, speeches, toast, cake and first dance, or as DJ with Bose speakers, a subwoofer and lighting. Lawn games, GoPro footage, an audio or video guestbook and a magic mirror photobooth can be added. Does Benn marry couples in the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges?
Yes. Both areas are on his regular list, so wineries, gardens and estates across the valley and the hills are covered. Send your date and venue to check availability.
Can he also be our MC and DJ?
Yes. He can host the reception as MC – introductions, speeches, toasts, cake and first dance – and run the music as DJ using his own Bose system and lights.
What legal paperwork does he look after?
Every package includes lodging your Notice of Intended Marriage, the signing documents on the day and registering the marriage online, plus guidance if you plan to change your name.
Is sound provided for an outdoor ceremony?
Yes. He brings a rechargeable PA that lasts up to 20 hours with two wireless mics, you can play music through it by Bluetooth, and your videographer can plug in for clear vow audio.
How do we lock in our date?
Send an enquiry with your date and venue, then meet Benn in person or on a video call. Paying a 50% deposit within a week of that meeting confirms the booking.
