Hens Party Accommodation Woolloomooloo

Woolloomooloo suits a hens group that wants to walk to most of the weekend. Pacific House Hostel, the property on Party Hero here, fills a heritage-listed 1892 building on Sir John Young Crescent, 50 metres from The Domain, with Circular Quay, the Botanic Garden and Darling Harbour each about 1.5 km away on foot. It runs a group program for 10 or more people staying at least two nights, and lists girls' getaways among the groups it hosts.

Before you book, the essentials:

• Getting there: the hostel's details don't cover parking, so plan on arriving without a car. The harbour at Circular Quay, the Botanic Garden and Darling Harbour are each about 1.5 km on foot.
• The rooms: dorms of 4, 6, 8 or 10 beds, plus private doubles and female-only rooms. Each bunk has three privacy curtains, a reading light, a USB charger and a power point, and each guest gets two lockers.
• Sleeps: the largest room is the 10-bed deluxe ensuite, which puts a group of 10 in one room. Group bookings need at least 10 people and two nights.
• Group rules and noise: the website doesn't publish house rules on noise or parties, so ask the group coordinator what's allowed before planning anything at the hostel.
• The night out: Il Pacifico, the licensed cafe downstairs, pours draught beer until 10pm, and Circular Quay and Darling Harbour are both about 1.5 km away on foot.

Designer Tamsin Johnson refreshed the interior in soft blues, greens and greys, with murals by Tabitha Hope, and every room looks over the park or the city, which makes getting-ready photos easy. Breakfast is free each morning, catering can be arranged from breakfasts to set meal packages, and the hostel runs two free events a day, among them wine and cheese nights. There's no published nightly rate: a group coordinator sends a quote within 24 to 48 hours and looks after the booking through to check-out.
