Lawn Bowls Mosman

Lawn bowls has been played on Bradleys Head Road since 1903, and Club Bradley Mosman still opens its greens to visitors as well as members. It is a gambling-free community club, which gives it a different feel from a typical suburban club: the focus is the green, the function rooms that overlook it and the food. Barefoot bowls here is pitched squarely at groups, from corporate days and Christmas parties to birthdays, school fundraisers and social gatherings.

How a group booking at Club Bradley works:

• Getting there: the club is on Bradleys Head Road in Mosman. Buses and ferries to Mosman Bay serve the area, and street parking is tight on weekends, so allow extra time or share lifts.
• The experience: no experience or special gear is needed, and the team shows your group the basics before you start. Social bowls runs every day the club is open.
• Group size: the Pavilion beside the green takes 60 seated or 80 standing, and the Balmoral Room seats 120 or holds 200 for cocktails. Smaller groups can use the Taronga Room for up to 25.
• Booking lead time: bowls bookings are taken from midday, and any food and service booking needs at least seven days' notice. The club is closed on Mondays.
• Food and drinks: Lusso Kitchen caters, with menus from shared platters and grazing to seated dining and buffets, and both the Balmoral Room and the Pavilion have their own bar.

Club Bradley does not publish a price for barefoot bowls, so pricing is quoted on enquiry and depends on the package you put together. The club can combine bowls with food and drinks so the group stays on after the game. Free table tennis and pool, plus pickleball courts beside the green, give anyone who would rather skip the bowls something else to do while the rest of the group plays.
