About Hamilton Alley
Hamilton Alley plays funk, soul and blues as a five-piece. The band is based in Newcastle and available for events across the Hunter Region, including the Hunter Valley, with Elizabeth Robinson singing lead, Jamie Gilmore on drums, Liam Ferguson on bass, Dave Bonsor on guitar and Kieran Glasgow adding vocals, slide guitar and harmonica. All five members sing, so the band can stack four-part harmonies and sounds bigger than its line-up. Its trademark is the funk cover: songs by artists such as INXS, Aerosmith, Fleetwood Mac and Diana Ross reshaped with a groove, which gives guests the fun of recognising a tune in an unexpected form. Soul classics from Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and Chaka Khan sit alongside them. Each set list is chosen for the audience, starting with softer background music over dinner and building to a dance set later. The band supplies its own professional PA and lighting rig, so a hall, marquee or function room only needs to provide space and power. Several members have worked in event planning and management, and the band is happy to fold a special song or themed moment into the night. Send an enquiry covering the date, the venue and what kind of event it is, and the band will reply with rates and availability.

Hamilton Alley played at our wedding and were absolutely sensational! They were very easy and friendly to communicate with from the very start and made me feel at ease that they would be prepared and smash it on the day.…
