About Near or Far Bus and Coach
This family business operates out of Lawson and is owned by Rod and Justine Williams, who live in the Blue Mountains. Rod brings more than two decades in the bus and coach trade, and the company took over a long-running local coach operator, keeping its driver on the team. For weddings, the team moves the bridal party and guests between accommodation, ceremony and reception, collecting from hotels and other agreed points. It works at venues around Katoomba, Leura and Wentworth Falls, up through Medlow Bath, Blackheath and Mount Victoria, and out to the Megalong Valley and Hartley. The team can also help with accommodation questions and suggest other local suppliers when couples are still putting the day together. The same charter service covers birthday milestones, anniversaries, corporate events, clubs and community groups. Vehicles are matched to the size of the group: seat-belted touring coaches with reclining seats, air conditioning and a PA system; a 28-seat mini-coach with lap-sash belts and leather seats; and a high-capacity bus with 57 seats and room for standees. One touring coach is wheelchair friendly, with space for passengers to stay in their own chairs alongside everyone else. This is a comfortable, well-kept coach rather than a party bus with lights and a dance floor – food and drinks other than bottled water are not allowed on board. Can you move our guests between the ceremony, reception and accommodation?

How many people can travel on one vehicle?
It depends on the vehicle. The mini-coach has 28 belted seats, the touring coaches carry as many as their seat belts allow, and the high-capacity bus seats 57 with extra room for standees. Tell them your numbers and they will match the vehicle.
Is there a coach for guests who use a wheelchair?
Yes. One touring coach takes two motorised wheelchairs and up to three standard wheelchairs, and those passengers ride in their own chairs with the rest of the group.
Can we bring drinks or food on board?
No. Under Transport for NSW guidelines and to keep the vehicles clean, food and drink are not allowed apart from bottled water and food needed for medical reasons.
