About Blueys Event Hire
Blueys Event Hire is a Katoomba-based hire company that has been fitting out events in the Blue Mountains for more than 30 years, and was once known as Blue Mountains Special Event Hire. It handles around 500 events a year, from small backyard gatherings to large marquee weddings. The range covers most of what an event needs: tables, chairs, linen, crockery, cutlery and glassware; clear-roof and freestanding marquees with flooring, walls and heaters; dance floors, staging and arbours; and décor such as backdrops, vintage lounges, wine barrels, rugs and cushions. Festoon and fairy lighting, sound and AV gear, portable PA systems and microphones are also available, along with catering equipment like spits and BBQs, slushie machines, giant games and a mirror photo booth. For weddings, the team supplies everything from the ceremony arbour and aisle runner to the reception marquee, working at venues and private properties around the Mountains, including the Megalong Valley and Hartley. A 9 x 12 m marquee seats roughly 40 to 60 guests, and the team helps you size the set-up to your numbers. Birthday parties, anniversaries, graduation and baby shower celebrations, and corporate functions are all covered too, and styling is offered through its sister studio, Penny Lane Studio. The crew delivers, sets up and packs down, or you can collect from the Katoomba warehouse. You can hold a date for 72 hours at no cost, and adjust your hire list until final confirmation. What size marquee do we need for our guest list?
It depends on the layout, but a 9 x 12 m marquee seats about 40 to 60 guests with room to dance. Larger set-ups such as a 10 x 24 m clear-roof marquee are available, and the team helps you choose.
What happens if the weather turns?
The marquees are built for all conditions, and the team advises on the right set-up for your site and season. Walls, flooring and heaters can be added to keep guests comfortable.
Can we hold a date before we commit?
Yes. Blueys will reserve your date for 72 hours with no payment and no obligation, giving you time to confirm plans. A deposit then secures the booking, and the remaining amount is paid nearer the date.
Can you style the event as well as supply the hire items?
Yes. Styling and coordination packages are offered through the sister business, Penny Lane Studio, on top of the equipment hire – ask about them in your enquiry.
