About Penny Lane Studio
Penny Lane Studio is a wedding and event styling business working from an appointment-only showroom in Katoomba. Lead stylist and creative director Kirsty Thompson heads the team, which draws on a background in hospitality, weddings and event coordination. Weddings are the core of the work, along with intimate elopements, baby showers, company retreats, conferences and team-building events. The studio has an extensive range of furniture, props and décor in luxe, natural and vintage looks – seating, tables, centrepieces, arbours, drapery, cocktail furniture, rugs, cushions, tableware, linen, cake stands, candles, lanterns, vases, table numbers, wishing wells and signage. The team can also build custom props when a theme needs something new. Lawn games such as ring toss, giant Jenga, boules and croquet can be added for guests. There are three ways to work with the team: DIY Event Hire, for hands-on couples and hosts who collect and return the pieces themselves, or Styled & Curated, where the stylists source, prep, set up and pack down the décor. Full Event Planning goes further, covering venue visits, supplier quotes, invoices, run sheets, floor plans and a long day of coordination on site. How much does Penny Lane Studio cost?
Packages are set as minimum spends: DIY Event Hire from $1,200, Styled & Curated from $2,500 and Full Event Planning from $5,000. A day-of coordinator can be added from $1,800, and each event is quoted after a consultation.
Is the first consultation free?
The first 20-minute introduction call costs nothing. A dedicated one-hour styling consultation, by Zoom or in person at the Katoomba showroom, is $220 including GST.
What does the Full Event Planning package include?
It includes two site or venue visits, supplier quotes gathered to your budget and style, invoice management, all supplier correspondence from three months out, a run sheet, floor plan and schedule, and ten to twelve hours of coordination on the day.
Can we just hire décor and set it up ourselves?
Yes. The DIY Event Hire option gives you access to the vintage and modern range with flexible pick-up and return, plus guidance on setting it up, and setup can be arranged if you change your mind.
Do you style corporate events as well as weddings?
Yes. The studio styles and plans company events such as conferences, seminars and team-building retreats, with décor chosen to reflect the business, as well as weddings, elopements and baby showers.
