School Formal Venues in Wyong & the Northern Lakes

Choosing the Right School Formal Venue

School formals across Wyong and the Northern Lakes gather at Mercure Kooindah Waters Central Coast, the golf and spa resort on Kooindah Boulevard in Wyong. It takes formals for Year 6, Year 10 and Year 12, with the ballroom and terrace kept to the school on the night.

What the Kooindah resort offers a formal committee:

A ballroom for up to 400, so a whole year group and teachers fit in one room.
Smaller rooms of 150 and around 50 when a Year 6 farewell is the size of a class or two.
An outdoor terrace beside the fairways for arrivals and group photos.
In-house catering, from canapés and grazing tables to plated menus, planned around the event.
Styling, theming and audiovisual gear, with technical support on the day.

Families travelling in from elsewhere on the Coast can book rooms on site, which helps parents and staff stay close by.

Wyong & the Northern Lakes School Formal Venues

Year 6 farewells can use Kooindah 2 for around 50, keeping the space to the right size.
Year 10 groups of up to 150 fit Kooindah 1 or Kooindah 3.
Year 12 formals with partners and staff can open the full ballroom to 400.
Exclusive use of the ballroom and terrace means no other function crosses paths with students.

Choosing a formal location across the Northern Lakes

A golf resort setting in Wyong keeps the formal away from pub crowds.
The course and wetlands give the photos a backdrop without hiring a second location.
Toukley and Norah Head have lake and beach rooms, but for a formal-sized crowd with exclusive use, Wyong's resort is where committees start.
Committees can send dates and numbers to the events team, who reply with a proposal.
