School Formal Venues on the Woy Woy Peninsula & Bouddi

Choosing the Right School Formal Venue

Year 12 formals on the Woy Woy Peninsula & Bouddi centre on Ettalong Beach, where Ettalong Diggers runs a functions team out of its waterfront club on The Esplanade. Ballroom-sized rooms make it a fit for a whole year group rather than a single class.

When comparing it with formal venues elsewhere on the coast, weigh up seating, menu style and how the dance floor is set up.

Points a formal committee usually checks first:

Seated capacity: the Broken Bay Ballroom seats 330, and the Seaview Ballroom seats 200.
Dance floor and stage: both can be hired in, along with a microphone for the speeches.
Menus: alternate-drop set menus of two or three courses, or one of two buffets, from $58 per person.
Dietary needs: every menu marks them, which helps with a large cohort.
Drinks: a soft drink package is offered alongside the alcoholic packages.

Room hire assumes catering and drinks are taken, and a coordinator works through the plan once the school or parent committee sends an enquiry.

Planning the Ettalong Diggers formal night

Choose finger food or canapés instead if the committee wants a cocktail-style formal.
Ask about the smart whiteboard with TV for a year-in-photos slideshow.
If adult guests want a bar, a cash bar or bar tab can be arranged, with bar staff charged separately.
