About DJ Kelso
Brendan Kelso, who performs as DJ Kelso, is a DJ, MC, singer and guitarist based in Sydney with more than a decade as a full-time DJ. He regularly makes the trip to the Blue Mountains and plays something like 80 to 100 weddings each year, plus corporate functions and private parties. Because he works every booking himself, the person you plan with is the person who performs. Mountains weddings often begin outdoors, so he can open with acoustic guitar and vocals for the aisle, the signing and the canapés. After the formalities he switches to an open-format set moving through house, pop, hip hop, R&B, rock, country and EDM, with emo and pop-punk ready if the crowd suits. Mashups and live mixing drive the night rather than one song played after another. In the MC role he liaises with the venue and other suppliers, helps put the run sheet together, makes the announcements and keeps the speeches moving. Couples plan songs through an online portal that allows unlimited picks and as many catch-ups as needed. Sound, lighting, a wireless microphone and a tidy, modern booth come with every booking. Wedding packages start at $2,750, while Christmas parties, gala dinners, launches and other corporate events are quoted one by one.
