About Weddings I Do
Janet Lomax runs Weddings I Do and has worked full time as a civil marriage celebrant for over 14 years. Expect a relaxed, inclusive ceremony that tells your story, with romance and humour in good measure. In the Mountains she regularly marries couples at private estates, gardens, parks and wineries, and she has written about venues there such as The Carrington in Katoomba. Beyond traditional weddings, she leads elopements, same-sex weddings, commitment ceremonies and vow renewals, and offers simple Legals Only signings from her own office at home. The inclusions never change between packages; the weekday you pick is the only thing that moves the price. Each booking comes with a wireless PA and mic you can plug a phone into for music, a rehearsal held online in the days before the ceremony, a signing session for the legal forms, your marriage registered with NSW Births, Deaths and Marriages, and a certificate written by hand. It all begins with a free chat, in person or on Zoom, after which Janet explains the Notice of Intended Marriage and every other form you need. Her planning folder offers over 60 sets of vows, roughly 150 readings and a stack of ceremony ideas to draw from. She is on site 45 minutes before the start so everything is in place, and overseas couples can complete their notice before flying in, with the certificate mailed to them afterwards.

What does a Weddings I Do ceremony cost?
Mondays cost $700, Tuesdays to Thursdays $800, and Fridays through Sundays $900 for a full ceremony. Legals Only, held at Janet's home office, is $650.
What comes with every package?
Every booking includes a wireless sound system and mic you can connect your phone to, a rehearsal over video, a session to sign the paperwork, registration of your marriage and a handwritten certificate.
Can couples who live overseas book Janet?
Yes. Residency is not needed, you can have your marriage notice witnessed before leaving home, and Janet will mail your certificate to you overseas.
Can Janet lead a vow renewal or commitment ceremony?
Yes. Vow renewals are written around your years together, and commitment ceremonies carry tailored vows and rituals without any legal marriage paperwork.
