Michael Janz has worked as a marriage celebrant for more than ten years, and his ceremonies are modern and easygoing, shaped around each couple's story with warmth and a little humour. He keeps his diary to a single wedding a day, so nothing is rushed and he is never watching the clock for another booking. A typical ceremony lasts somewhere between 20 and 25 minutes, with the length set by your readings and rituals. In the Mountains he regularly works at resorts, vineyards and clifftop venues, including Fairmont Resort at Leura, Dryridge Estate in the Megalong Valley, the Conservation Hut at Wentworth Falls, The Lookout at Echo Point and the Hydro Majestic at Medlow Bath. Lookouts near Leura, such as Jamison Lookout and Leura Cascades, suit elopements and small groups, although some spots are steep or close to passing traffic. He plans the season, the light, guest access and a wet-weather or fog option with you, and works alongside your venue or planner. His range covers personalised ceremonies, legals-only weddings, elopements, naming days, vow renewals and micro weddings. The paperwork is handled carefully, from the Notice of Intended Marriage and identity documents to the required legal words, and once you are married he orders the official certificate for you and pays the fee so it reaches you faster. Planning opens with a phone or Zoom conversation, and he shares vow templates, a list of readings and ritual ideas, and his wireless PA suits outdoor and indoor settings alike.
