About Alpha Paintball
Alpha Paintball is the paintball park at Stanwell Tops, on the northern edge of the City of Wollongong. Paintball has been played on this rainforest site since the 1990s. The field is laid out as a series of themed game zones: a two-storey timber fort with lookout towers, a cluster of thatched huts, walls of stacked tyres and open forest. Games run in three-hour blocks, mostly on Saturdays. After paperwork, gearing up and a safety briefing, referees take the group through a string of short games on different maps, switching scenarios as they go. Players use BASE anti-fog goggles and a GOG eNMey marker, with the faster GOG Alpha available as an upgrade. The park sends players out in groups of about 30, split 15 against 15, and mixes the teams so friends end up on opposite sides. Smaller groups and solo players are folded into a game, while a crew of 30 or more can ask for an exclusive booking, and the zones are big enough for 50 to 60. Bucks and hens parties are a big part of the calendar, and the team can add novelty costumes and special game play for the occasion. Birthday groups make good use of the free BBQ and the undercover eating area. Hot showers, a kiosk and lockers are on site. Players need to be at least 12, and 12 to 17 year olds bring a signed parental consent form. Send an enquiry to book a date for the group.

Frequently asked questions
How big does our group need to be?
Any size can play. The park runs games of about 30 players split into two teams, so smaller groups and individuals are mixed in with other players. A group of 30 or more can ask to play on its own, subject to availability, and the zones can hold 50 to 60.
What is the minimum age for paintball here?
Players must be 12 or older under NSW law, with no exceptions. Anyone aged 12 to 17 needs the parental consent section of the waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian, plus proof of age such as a school ID or a photo of a birth certificate.
Can we bring food and drinks for a celebration?
Yes. Groups can bring their own food and drinks, use the free BBQ and sit in the undercover area. Adults 18 and over may drink responsibly once the games are finished, but anyone who appears affected by alcohol before play will not be allowed on the field.
What should players wear?
Wear comfortable casual clothes with long sleeves and long pants to cover your skin, plus a cap or head wrap. Sturdy shoes with ankle support and good grip suit the uneven ground. Paint comes out of clothes with a warm wash.
How long does a booking take, and when do games run?
Allow three hours, starting with about 30 minutes of check-in, gearing up and a safety briefing. Saturday games start at 9am or 11am, and Sundays or weekdays can be arranged on enquiry.

Solid paintball place not too far out from Sydney. The driveway is a bit of a travesty. But the place is run relatively well. Bit disappointing how the masks fog up easily and also don't cover the top of your head. Othe…
