About The Marquee People
The Marquee People is a marquee hire company based in Melbourne, set up by Hamish Little after more than 25 years working in events, and it lists the Mornington Peninsula among the areas it covers. The team plans and puts up marquees for weddings, festivals, private parties and corporate functions held at homes, parks and gardens. Clients choose from five main structures. The SoHo, in a pale Dawn or darker Dusk finish, has a frame with no centre poles, comes 6, 10, 12 or 15 metres wide and lengthens in 5 metre steps, while the sailcloth Pinnacle is an oval tent 13.7 metres wide that seats up to 220. The traditional Mayfair pole marquee comes in 12 metre widths, and the modular Arbour starts at 3 by 3 metres and links up with gutters. Fit-out options include dance floors, synthetic grass, carpet tiles or timber-look flooring, liners in black, white or ecru, dimmable lighting, decking, glass or standard doors, and heating or cooling. A clear roof can be shaded ahead of the guests arriving, and the frame can be rigged to carry a hanging floral installation for your florist. Planning starts with a conversation and a site visit, where the team looks at truck access, how far gear must be carried, the slope, trees, power and toilet arrangements, so the marquee suits the space.
