Christmas Party Venues in Clayton

What to Know Before Booking Christmas Party Venues

End-of-year functions in Clayton split between a sporting club and a pub function room, and each handles a work team differently. Clayton Sports Club in Clayton South offers a Christmas buffet and a game of bowls, while Dooley's Irish Bar @ Monash Hotel on Dandenong Road gives a team a private room with a stage.

Setting the December brief for a Clayton team:

Activity-led: barefoot bowls on the sports club's greens, with the covered, lit Cobra Dome playing in any weather
Christmas menu: Clayton Sports Club runs a dedicated Christmas buffet, from $45 per person
A room to yourselves: Dooley's seats 90 or holds 300 standing, with exclusive entry
Speeches and slideshows: a lit stage plus a projector and AV system at the Monash Hotel
Bar budget: tabs with a chosen limit at both venues, as well as timed drinks packages

For a smaller office, Dooley's five-hour room packages fold food, staff and a bar tab into one price. Bigger teams can choose canapés from $25 per person instead.

Barefoot bowls is run in two-hour sessions, which fits neatly before a buffet dinner
Four dartboards, two snooker tables and a pool table give staff who skip the bowls something to do
Trivia and bingo appear on the sports club's entertainment list for a mixed-seniority crowd
Drinks come as an alcohol-free, Silver or Gold package, or a bar tab with a set limit

A pub function room on Dandenong Road

Dooley's is closed to the public on Saturdays, leaving the room free for private hire
Two or three course set menus suit 30 or more seated, and carvery buffets 40 or more
Pool tables and an undercover licensed smoking area sit alongside the dance floor
