Birthday Party Venues in Clayton

Choosing the Right Birthday Party Venue

Bowls on an undercover green or a dance floor under stage lights – Clayton's two birthday options pull in quite different directions. One is a bowls club in Clayton South, the other an Irish bar inside a Dandenong Road pub.

Both run their own bars and kitchens, so the choice comes down to whether the party wants an activity or a big night in a room of its own.

Two Clayton birthday set-ups, side by side:

Clayton Sports Club – a semi-private function space at 37A Springs Rd, with buffets from $45 per person and barefoot bowls as an add-on
Dooley's Irish Bar @ Monash Hotel – a timber-panelled private room at 2077 Dandenong Rd for up to 300 standing or 90 seated
Games – darts, snooker and pool at the sports club; pool tables and a stage at Dooley's
Food – themed buffets, platters or sit-down dining at the club; canapé selections priced from $25 per person at Dooley's
Drinks – a bar tab with a limit, or a timed package, at either venue

Dooley's shuts to walk-ins on Saturdays so it can be hired, and guests coming from further afield can stay in rooms behind the hotel.

Barefoot bowls runs in two-hour sessions and needs no experience, which suits a mixed-age family group
The Cobra Dome is a covered synthetic green with lights, so the game goes ahead whatever the forecast
Buffet styles range from a gourmet barbecue and a roast to Italian, Indian and Asian menus
Drinks run on a Gold, Silver or alcohol-free package, or a tab capped at whatever figure you pick

Taking over the Irish bar

Hirers get their own entry, private bathrooms and a fully stocked island bar
The lit stage and dance floor are ready for a DJ at a 21st or 40th
A projector and AV system can run a photo slideshow before the toasts
Five-hour room packages bundle staff, linen, AV, platters and a tab for smaller guest lists
