About Blue Mountains Gin Company

Blue Mountains Gin Company is a small craft distillery run by Katoomba locals Jann and Harry Dillon. Its gin, vodka and other spirits are made in small batches on two stills, with the botanicals, bottling and packing all done by hand. The bar and tasting room, The Factory Bar, sits in an old factory building on Whitton Street in North Katoomba. It pours the house spirits alongside cocktails and bar food, and an open fire burns in the front garden on most evenings. The Behind the Scenes tour lasts about 45 minutes for two or more people. You see how the botanicals are prepared and the spirits distilled, then finish with a tasting flight of the gins or vodkas. The longer Meet the Makers tour runs for an hour for six or more guests. The cocktail class needs at least ten people and runs for an hour behind the bar. The bar team covers shaking, stirring and building drinks, balancing flavours and garnishing, and everyone then sits down with the cocktail they made. The team pitches the class at birthdays, hens and bucks groups and team-building days. Its events page also offers tailored tastings and cocktail masterclasses for corporate days, end-of-year celebrations and private parties. Tour and class can be booked together, and grazing platters can be added for groups with two days' notice. Send an enquiry to plan a date for your group.
