About Bonza Amusements
Trading as both Bonza Amusements and Bonza Pony & Amusement Hire, the business has been taking ponies, animals and rides to children's events since 1990. It is based in Sydney and comes up to the Blue Mountains for backyard birthdays, school days, markets and community events in Katoomba, Leura, Springwood, Glenbrook and Blaxland. Setup, running and pack-down are all handled by its own team. Ponies are the heart of the business. A booking starts at two ponies and their handlers for 90 minutes and goes up to four ponies across four hours, and for a unicorn party the ponies are dressed up for a two-hour visit. Animal lovers can also book the mobile petting zoo, sized as a small farm for short parties or a large farm for longer days. Rides cover a trackless train, spinning teacups, a mini carousel seating five riders between two and nine years old, a mini fire engine with room for fifteen and a set of small swing chairs. Every attraction can be hired alone or bundled into a custom package. Events in the Mountains take a little more planning for access and weather, so a level, sheltered spot is strongly advised. The ponies and train need clear flat ground, the carousel and teacups take up about five metres by five, and the vehicle and trailer need somewhere to park. Every handler holds an NSW Working With Children Check, the animals get regular health checks, and public liability insurance is in place.

Frequently asked questions
Which Blue Mountains towns does Bonza Amusements visit?
Its Blue Mountains page names Katoomba, Leura, Springwood, Glenbrook and Blaxland, covering parties, markets and community events in the Mountains.
How much does a pony party cost?
Two ponies for 90 minutes start at $770, and a two-hour unicorn party starts at $880. A bigger booking of four ponies for four hours starts at $1,800.
What space and access are needed?
Ponies and the train need open, flat ground, and the carousel and teacups need about five metres by five. There must be parking for the vehicle and trailer, and a sheltered spot helps in the Mountains.
What happens if the weather is poor?
When storms, rain, extreme heat or soft ground would rule out a safe event, you and the team agree on a new date or a changed setup. A few of the rides can operate under cover if it's suitable.
Can attractions be combined?
Yes. Ponies, the petting zoo and the rides can each be booked alone or put together into a custom package, with final pricing depending on the attractions, date, access and safety conditions.
